BIOGRAPHY
While
attending school, Celia could never understand the point of passing
notes in class. Why write, she reasoned, when she could talk and
leave
no evidence. With much to say and a captive listener in a desk in
every direction around her, Celia's vocal cords developed at an
astonishing rate!
By age 8, Celia was also excellent at reading out loud. At the
time,
this was most unfortunate, as the boy who had won her heart was nearly
always placed in the C reading group. There was that one time
when he
improved enough to advance to the B group, but Celia's own attempts to
downgrade her skills to coincide with his monumental achievement never
did pass muster. This was Celia's first lesson in "keeping it
real" -
a very important concept in voiceovers.
Beginning
in high school (and through college and up to her mid-20's), Celia
played in pit orchestras for numerous musicals. She marveled at
the abilities of the actors, but didn't have the guts to perform on
stage, and she also couldn't (and still can't) fathom how the actors
could memorize ALL THOSE LINES!
